Platinum

Platinum is a chemical element with the symbol Pt. It’s atomic number is 78. It is a ductile, highly unreactive, precious(Because of using in jewellery and ornaments), silverish-white transition metal. It is also called as little silver because of its silverish colour. Platinum is a group 10 Elements and it has five isotopes (190Pt, 192Pt, 194Pt, 195Pt, 196Pt, and 198Pt ). It is one of the rare earth metal present on earth’s crust. It occurs from nickel and copper ores. Platinum is one of the least reactive metals. It has remarkable resistance to corrosion, even at high temperatures, and is therefore considered a noble metal. Platinum is used as laboratory equipment, electrical contacts and electrodes, thermometers, dentistry equipment, and jewelry. Large platinum deposits are present in the state of Tamil Nadu, India.
